We also offer CalWORKs Work Study positions on campus and off campus in order to help you gain valuable work experience as you attend school. CalWORKs provides academic support and services including, but not limited to, academic counseling, career advisement, priority registration, temporary childcare, transportation assistance, meal service and assistance with the completion of Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) documentation to meet welfare-to-work requirements. Our goal is to help you obtain a vocational certificate, associate degree, or transfer to a four-year university in order to attain sustainable employment and become self-sufficient. The ECC CalWORKs Parents Program is dedicated to assisting parents with children who are currently receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids Act (CalWORKs) Proceeds from the Bookstore are used to support the Auxiliary Services Fund and site improvement projects on campus. Textbooks may be purchased online at Click on the Bookstore and order textbooks for home delivery or in-store pickup. The Bookstore will pay up to 50 percent of the original cost on textbooks that are being used for the next term. ![]() The best time to sell books is during the last week of a semester or session. Textbooks purchased for summer sessions can be returned the first three days of the sessions for a full refund. The El Camino College Bookstore is located on the north side of campus, adjacent to the staff parking lot off the Manhattan Beach Boulevard entrance at Lemoli Street. ![]() Contact the Assessment/ Testing Center for further information or refer to the El Camino College Assessment/Testing webpage at Bookstore Services In addition to English, ESL (Part 1), and mathematics placement tests, the Assessment/Testing Center also administers the following exams: Ability-to- Benefit (ATB), chemistry placement, contemporary health, English as a Second Language (Part 2), and mathematics competency. Placement into classes is based upon test scores and other multiple measures. English, English as a Second Language (ESL) (Part 1) and mathematics placement testing are computerized and available on a drop-in basis according to posted hours. The Assessment/Testing Center is located in Room 217, on the second floor of the Student Services Center building. After this date, students will be unable to decline the purchase of the ASO Student Activity Discount Sticker or receive a refund. Students have until the last day of the add/drop period of full-term courses to decline purchasing the ASO Student Activity Discount Sticker and receive a refund. ![]() Students may choose to decline purchasing the ASO Student Activity Discount Sticker when paying their fees online or at the Cashier’s Office. The ASB Student Activity Discount Sticker is not available for purchase during the summer term however, the sticker is valid until the start of fall term. Students are charged this fee each semester at the time of enrollment. The ASO Student Activity Discount Sticker is $15 each fall and spring semester. The ASO Student Activity Discount Sticker financially supports activities such as student government, student clubs, student newspaper, speech and debate team, performing arts, and athletic teams. Discounted tickets may be purchased at the Marsee Auditorium Ticket Office. The Associated Students Organization (ASO) Student Activity Discount Sticker entitles students to receive discounts for El Camino College athletic events, Center for the Arts events, apparel at the El Camino College Bookstore, select local restaurants/businesses, and admission to participating movie theaters and amusement parks.
